How would you describe the eduCamp in one sentence?

eduCamp is an incredible week of fun and learning at the same time.

This year you participated at the eduCamp as an instructor - what was the topic and how did you fill the three course days?

I planned the three days concerning the topic embedded program as a hands-on workshop. Our aim was to get a LED driven by an Android mobile App. The devices we used were an Arduino UNO, a Raspberry Pi and a Smartphone. This is because we had the chance to work with communication protocol ranging from serial to RESTful APIs. Everything was managed by the team using shared tickets board and repos. It looked like this:

What is the adesso eduCamp?

The eduCamp is the highlight of all adesso employee events! The training week takes place once a year in a Mediterranean destination directly by the sea. The focus there is not only on the social experience, but on further education: in various workshops, we are upskilled by external or internal trainers in new technologies and trends. Where possible, we also offer a subsequent professional certification. The costs, including accommodation and meals, are covered by adesso.

What's your biggest take away from the course?

The biggest take away from the course is that we know each other much better than before. We were able to share insights among course members and the embedded development is now more clear to the mobile devs, and the mobile development is now more clear to the embedded devs.

This was our course group:

Besides the course - what was your personal eduCamp highlight?

Oh, this one is simple: Of course being able to swim in the Sardinian sea after a course day and having a drink or two at the beach.

How many adessi did you know before the eduCamp? And how many do you know now?

Actually, I knew several adessi already before the eduCamp, but most of them I only met virtually or at the eduCamp "light" from last year in Crans Montana (by the way, this was a fantastic eduCamp as well!). And of course, I had the chance to talk with some more adessi that I didn't know before. And I’m pretty sure we all grew together as a community thanks to these days together.
