The Swiss consulting and IT service provider adesso can look back on a successful financial year 2023. In spite of a generally volatile economic situation, the company once again achieved record sales last year.
Generative AI in practice
adesso continued to record strong growth in its key IT services and software segments, benefiting from continued high demand for its own digitalization services across all core industries. In Switzerland, financial performance was strongly influenced by developments relating to Artificial Intelligence - and Generative AI in particular. There was an increase in inquiries for solutions such as Microsoft Copilot.
Indeed, most companies regard AI as an important key technology that offers enormous opportunities, for example to increase efficiency or to make faster and more precise decisions. According to a recent study conducted by adesso among Swiss managers, more than two thirds see Generative AI as an opportunity. The study also showed that companies are already gradually getting started with specific GenAI applications. A clear majority of 71% intend to implement corresponding solutions this year.
In the Swiss market, business process automation was also a key factor in 2023, as customers aim for greater efficiency and cost savings in challenging times.
Growth trajectory continues
In the financial year 2023, the adesso Group again recorded growth in the number of employees. The number of adesso Group employees, converted to full-time equivalents, increased to 9,512 by the end of the year. The number of employees in Switzerland was over 500 at the end of the year. adesso SE continued to pursue its internationalization strategy in the financial year with acquisitions in Italy and India and the opening of a location in the United Kingdom.
