Digitally designing mobile financial apps

A great user experience makes using banking applications an indispensable part of the daily handling of money and assets.

Mobile apps have also become an indispensable channel for banks to reach their customers. Digital design ensures that the needs of customers are met in a contemporary way and that innovative, new and attractive services become part of the customer’s everyday life.

The following services and information offerings can, for example, be bundled into an app and made available to bank customers with all the advantages of mobile access:

  • Integration of finance portals (Smarthouse one)
  • Services for corporate clients/SMEs (open banking)
  • Transferring money to mobile numbers
  • E-banking, Scan & Pay, balance overview and transactions, notifications
  • Buying digital credit for mobile phones, iTunes, Google Play, paysafecard etc

Multi-banking to other financial institutions can either be provided by the bank’s app as a portal (storing the access data in the bank) or as access to the PSD2 ecosystem:

The digital transformation exerts massive pressure to change existing processes and has resulted in a significant realignment of existing IT solutions to create a new and attractive user experience.

This means the solution patterns as well as the design and development process change to reach a solution that meets the new requirements. adesso draws inspiration from the Digital Design Manifesto in this case.
