Under the theme «Challenge Meets Opportunity», our New Year’s Executive Dinner will feature two distinguished voices from the Swiss economy sharing insights from their diverse leadership experience. Following their brief keynote, they will be available for a Q&A session moderated by adesso‘s Hansjörg Süess.

Jerzy Janeczko will talk about how AI is transforming life sciences and manufacturing — enabling smarter decisions, greater efficiency, and faster innovation. Yet, its rapid adoption raises complex issues around data security, ethics, workforce adaptation, and regulation. With a balanced and responsible approach, AI becomes not just a tool for optimization but a catalyst for discovery and intelligent automation.

Esther Berger will then share how Booking.com increases the visibility and occupancy rates of hotels and, as a two-sided marketplace, efficiently connects demand with supply. Amidst macroeconomic change, legal regulations, and the paradigm shift brought about by GenAI, Booking.com is focusing specifically on technology. To improve the customer journey and increase conversion, it uses tools such as the AI Trip Planner, GenAI-powered search, conversational property Q&As, and GenAI generated review summaries.

Jerzy Janeczko serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Lonza Group AG, based in Basel, Switzerland. He joined Lonza in 2023 and is responsible for driving the company’s global technology, digital as well as data strategy and transformation across Lonza. With an extensive background in information technology and digital innovation, he has held senior leadership positions in the pharmaceutical, medical devices and other industries across North America and Europe. Jerzy Janeczko holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Niagara College, Canada.

Esther Berger has been with Booking.com since 2013, bringing more than 13 years of experience in the international online tourism industry. Since March 2022, she has served as Area Manager for the Swiss market and, since October, also oversees Austria and South Tyrol, leading partner support and strategic development across these regions.
