On 13 and 14 October 2025, the first training course on ‘Fundamentals of Energy Management’ took place in Regensburg at our partner kraftwerk.io – a successful start to a promising partnership in the field of further education and beyond.

A strong foundation for new employees

The aim of the two-day training course was to give new employees at kraftwerk.io a practical and well-founded introduction to the energy industry. The participants, most of whom were career changers, were given a structured overview of the key stages of the value chain: from generation, trading and procurement, transmission, distribution, metering and sales to consumption. All content was based on current studies, regulatory developments and scientifically sound data.

The training thrives on discussion and critical exchange, because energy policy is omnipresent – whether in newspapers, social media or on the radio. Many participants brought their own perspectives and questions, which resulted from the daily flood of information. These were taken up during the training, classified and contrasted with scientific findings. Among other things, this made it possible to show why public opinion often does not correspond to the assessments of experts in the energy industry: simplified representations, political exaggerations or a lack of understanding of systemic interrelationships are often responsible for this.

On the very first day, an open, collegial and curious atmosphere developed, which noticeably promoted the learning process. Discussions arose organically from within the group, often stimulated by concrete practical examples or current political developments. Despite the intensive discussions and numerous questions, the schedule was adhered to – a clear sign of the high level of commitment and active participation of the participants.

The training was conducted by our adessi colleagues Simon Bächle and Martin Tauchert and attended by a total of twelve employees.

The result: a common basic understanding that not only facilitates professional orientation, but also strengthens internal cooperation and lays the foundation for a reflective, informed and future-oriented engagement with the energy industry.

Content directly relevant to practical application

The training course focused on clear practical examples in order to convey even complex concepts in an understandable way. Participants were able to link the content directly to their daily tasks. This is a crucial factor for sustainable learning success and rapid professional orientation. The topics of market communication and energy industry processes were met with particular interest, as they have a direct impact on the participants' everyday work and often form the basis for operational decisions.

Interactive elements such as case studies, process descriptions (e.g. 24-hour supplier change) and joint discussions created a deeper understanding of the processes and challenges in the energy industry. This not only promoted technical expertise, but also awareness of the importance of accuracy, regulatory compliance and systemic interrelationships in daily work.

Positive feedback and clear perspectives

The feedback from participants was consistently positive. In particular, the clear structure, comprehensible presentation and practical orientation were praised. The desire for in-depth training on market communication was expressed several times and is already planned as a follow-up topic for 2026. It is therefore not surprising that further training dates are already planned for 2026. In the long term, the format is to be firmly anchored in the continuing education programme in collaboration with the Power Plant Academy.

From the trainers' point of view, the event was also a complete success: the lively participation and noticeable interest of the participants made the training not only effective but also particularly motivating.

Conclusion: a format with a future

The first training course, ‘Fundamentals of the Energy Industry’, was a complete success both technically and organisationally. It showed that targeted further training not only imparts knowledge, but also strengthens cooperation and confidence in taking action.

adesso and kraftwerk.io will continue to develop the training concept together in order to increase professional competence, understanding and future security in the energy industry.

We look forward to continuing this successful collaboration in the coming year.
