The energy industry is undergoing change – shaped by regulatory changes, technological progress and new market requirements. Many specialists and managers are faced with fundamental questions: What happens between generation, grid operation and distribution? Which roles and processes shape the market? And how do IT systems and regulatory requirements interact?

To address this need for energy industry orientation, adesso has developed a training course – originally designed for new employees. This format has been continuously developed and refined in line with practical requirements for over ten years. The established training programme is now also available to external participants, providing them with sound basic knowledge in a structured and application-oriented manner.

Structured teaching of key processes and topics

The training is based on the energy industry value chain and addresses key processes – from generation, trading and grid operation to consumption and metering. Current developments such as Redispatch 2.0 and switching suppliers within 24 hours are covered, as are overarching topics such as IT integration and system landscapes.

The didactic design combines technical input with interactive elements. Group work and practical examples enable a practical approach to the content. The training is based on project experience gained from numerous mandates with energy suppliers, network operators and software providers.

Target groups, schedule and key topics

The training course is aimed at specialists and managers from the energy industry and related fields such as IT, consulting and software development. People with little experience in the energy industry will also benefit from a structured introduction.

The two-day event provides basic knowledge and information on current market developments in a compact format. Interactive tasks promote exchange between participants and enable the targeted application of what has been learned in a professional context.

First implementation with external participants: feedback and experiences

In recent months, the training format was offered externally for the first time, for example in collaboration with our cooperation partner, CURSOR Software AG. Participants emphasised the clear structure, the practical relevance of the content and the methodological diversity. The alternation between theoretical units and application-oriented tasks was particularly highlighted as an added value.
