Quantum computing

More speed for new potential

More accurate risk modeling at insurance companies, highly optimized routes in logistics, better pricing of complex structured products at banks, or significantly faster and thus more cost-efficient simulation of molecules in the materials and pharmaceutical industries.

All this is possible with quantum computers. Why? Because they support the underlying mathematical processes and concepts, such as Monte Carlo simulation, in a completely new and better way than classical computing systems could. When quantum computers are combined with existing IT landscapes, cloud infrastructures and high-performance computers, this opens up entirely new possibilities for companies, as more information can be processed in simulations and optimization problems in much less time.

Use case

In a pilot project, Deutsche Börse has reduced a complete sensitivity analysis with 1,000 input parameters, which would take ten years with conventional computers, to less than 30 minutes of computing time using quantum algorithms.

Although stably functioning quantum computers are not expected until the next few years, user companies should start looking at this future technology today. After all, it is not a matter of replacing existing IT solutions, but of supplementing them.

The use of Quantum Systems

The following perspectives play a role in the use of quantum systems:

Business Readiness:

Identifying use cases that will actually benefit from the new capabilities and formulating them into "qubit algorithms."

Cloud Readiness:

Inclusion of existing cloud services, from proof-of-value to production deployment.

IT Readiness:

Enable connectivity of existing IT systems with quantum computing and design for scalability.

People Readiness:

Empowering business and IT professionals to interact with Quantum systems.
