adesso hosting services GmbH can once again look back on an extremely successful financial year: the subsidiary of IT service provider adesso AG grew at a much faster rate than projected in 2015. The company specialising in complex hosting and cloud services plans to continue its growth path in financial year 2016 unabated.

Agile software architectures and the impact of the Internet of Things (IoT) on developers will be the key issues presented by adesso at the OOP software conference from 1 to 5 February 2016 at the ICM Munich. adesso AG is strengthening its cooperation with Red Hat: The leading provider of open source solutions has named adesso as an Advanced Business Partner in middleware. This status underscores the IT provider’s expertise in Red Hat’s JBoss middleware technologies.

Ensuring digital equal opportunities at an early stage: adesso hosting services GmbH, a subsidiary of IT service provider adesso AG, is getting involved by donating to MedienMonster, a non-profit association committed to promoting media skills among school pupils.

This year, Münchener Verein Lebensversicherung a.G. initiated a project to set up a new inventory and service management system based on the PSLife software product. The model-based policy administration software for life insurers was developed by PSLife GmbH, a subsidiary of IT service provider adesso. PSLife GmbH and affiliated company PSLife Consulting GmbH are supporting Münchener Verein Lebensversicherung with the introduction and adaptation of the PSLife software solution.

adesso AG has donated EUR 5,000 to the not-for-profit organisation Clean Winners. The amount is part of a donation that the IT service provider has made for each of its employees who took part in a company run in 2015. In doing so, adesso is supporting the expansion of the sport education programme offered by the charitable organisation, which helps more than 350 children and young adults throughout Germany at 13 locations.

Today, insurers are still hardly using the benefits of predictive marketing – even though they already have the required data. As a result, they are not only squandering sales opportunities, but also the chance to alleviate the organisational burden. This is the conclusion of a recent report conducted by the insurance forums in Leipzig commissioned by IT provider adesso.

More than 600 refugees will soon receive shelter at two airdomes in Stadtkrone Ost, Dortmund, which is located close to DOKOM21 and adesso. “The people are safe now, but many of them worry about their family and friends in Syria or Iraq. Together with adesso AG, we will provide free WLAN so that the new arrivals housed in the shelter may contact their loved ones at home at any time,” explains Jörg Figura, managing director of DOKOM21. For this purpose, the regional telecommunications service provider is installing two hotspots to guarantee quick and stable Internet access. DOKOM21 is financing the connection and the investment required to install the WLAN network. According to the city building authorities, the construction works are proceeding according to schedule and the first refugees should be able to move in by mid-December.

adesso’s content management and e-commerce activities will be pooled at digital business specialist ARITHNEA from 1 January 2016. As part of this move, the ARITHNEA team will be joined by some 50 adesso staff. At the same time, the IT service provider adesso AG is increasing its shareholding in ARITHNEA from 51 per cent to 100 per cent. With the restructuring effort, adesso and ARITHNEA are pursuing the aim of systematically advancing the defined growth and investment strategy.

Increasing numbers of “hybrid” customers, individuals who constantly switch between on- and offline communication, mean that insurance companies must integrate their sales channels. That will require both technical measures and cultural change. Those are the conclusions of a recent research study commissioned by the IT service provider adesso and conducted by Versicherungsforen Leipzig, which provides services to the insurance industry.
