Developing. The future. Now. − adesso turns 20

The IT service provider adesso is celebrating its milestone anniversary with the slogan “Developing. The future. Now.” Visionary thinking and pioneering IT concepts and solutions: The company from 20 years ago, focused on process optimisation, has now become one of the biggest full-service providers for IT consulting and software development, and digital transformation in the German-speaking region.

For two decades now, adesso has been providing its customers with crucial guidance by assisting in the optimisation of core business processes, the development of new business models and the implementation of industry-specific IT solutions. Since adesso was founded, the company’s philosophy has focused on designing as well as shaping innovative methods and concepts for software development, in addition to thinking with a view to the future.

With “Developing. The future. Now.”, adesso will be organising a series of events and campaigns to mark the anniversary year. These events and campaigns will be geared towards IT experts as well as the youngest generation of IT talent.

“IoT4Kids” and the future of software engineering

adesso will be presenting the “IoT4Kids” roadshow from June to December 2017 at eight of its German locations. The IT service provider aims to invite children between the ages of 9 and 14 to playfully explore the internet of things, build wearables and program robots. The purpose is to introduce the next generation of IT talent to modern technologies through a fun format at an early age, spark their interest in technology and get them excited about careers with a promising future.

The highlight of the anniversary year will be the adesso IT conference titled “The Essence of Software Engineering”, scheduled to take place in November 2017 on the grounds of the Zollverein Coal Mine UNESCO World Heritage site in Essen. The conference will bring together IT pioneers, visionaries and users for discussions on developments in software engineering, ranging from state of the art to emerging trends of the future.

Long-term customer relationships the basis for success

The IT service provider cultivates long-standing relationships with its customers in core sectors such as insurance, healthcare, banking and lottery. These relationships stretch back to the company’s early years. adesso plays a crucial role in projects for these sectors with regard to the development of complex, powerful systems that prepare the companies for the challenges and opportunities presented by their specific markets and contribute towards their success in the digital transformation process. adesso also ensures the shortest possible distance between itself and customers thanks to a growing network of locations. Since 2016, the IT service provider has opened up five additional locations, further increasing its regional presence.

“adesso’s key values, such as long-term customer relationships, a strong employee focus and close links between research and practice have been important building blocks from the beginning. We have deliberately cultivated these values and continue to pursue them,” says Prof. Dr. Volker Gruhn, founder and current Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of adesso. “In this way, we have succeeded in assisting our customers in their software projects with the right mix of industry experience and technological expertise, while becoming an important employer in the IT sector for talented up-and-comers and professionals at the same time. We are left feeling thankful and also a little proud, naturally. However, we also view this successful development as a mission to share our knowledge and experience with the next generation.”
