BPM with microservices

SUISA is the cooperative of composers, lyricists and music publishers in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Its members include over 34,000 musicians of all disciplines. In Switzerland and Liechtenstein, SUISA represents the music repertoire of 2 million music authors worldwide. It grants licenses for the use of this world repertoire to over 90,000 customers, including concert promoters, radio stations, record companies and guest companies. Approximately 1 million new musical works are made available each year.

The complex process of managing musical works, their licensing and distribution of author royalties was accommodated on different platforms, applications and databases. In addition, some mainframe applications achieved the End of Life stage. A sensible solution had to be found for these challenges.

The complex processes were
a) automated and
b) brought together on a single platform
with a Business Processing Management system (BPM).
The microservices architecture forms the perfect basis here for the integration of the BPM system into the system landscape.
